Wed 5/21 Unknown Hinson (THE KING OF COUNTRY WESTERN TROUBADOURS )
This ain’t your "Three Stooges Knuckleheads", this is the "Road Rumble with the King" Knuckleheads. Be prepared to party.
Free cans of Whoop Ass to anyone singing along with the King. A show to tell your grandkids about. while you’re explaining the
tattoo of Unknown Hinson on your forehead.
Looking somewhat like Dracula's nasty little brother who spent some hard years drinking and working as a carnival barker for a second-rate freak show, Unknown Hinson translates that vibe to  his style of country and western-tinged psychobilly. Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, this red-necked crooner gained regional popularity with a self-produced television show in 1992 and soon was touring nationwide, wowing audiences with his outrageous and campy, white-trash persona and freewheeling, sleazy tone. Hinson’s most recent CD release,  “Target Practice”, melds weepy twang and searing guitar riffs and lyrics that speak of love-gone-bad and the dark side of the honky-tonk lifestyle.  Raucous, theatrical and over-the-top, Unknown Hinson isn’t just for the trailer park set anymore!

Founded thirteen years ago at a booze and hallucinogen-fueled party at the Dabbs Hotel along the river in Llano, Texas, the Asylum Street Spankers stand as one of America’s most distinctive groups.  Defiantly acoustic, fiercely independent and absurdly good, the Spankers have been led by founders Christina Marrs and Wammo from being a country-blues revival act playing happy hours in Austin, through nearly 40 musicians, endless touring and constant evolution to being an internationally reknowned underground institution. Fueled by an ethos born of their punk roots, Marrs and Wammo have built their lives around making unique music that surprises and entertains

Fri 5/30  Paul Thorn (singer / songwriter/ poet)
Thorn has a lot about himself to tell. One would expect to hear great stories from a guy who boxed Roberto "Hands of Stone" Duran on national television, made chairs for a living, skydives for fun, had his first singing gig at age three, and who happens to be one of the South's finest songwriters. Paul Thorn doesn't disappoint.

Sometimes no matter how much great work an artist produces there's one piece that just bursts thru the stratosphere and impacts an audience to the point that artist and the work become irreducible in the minds of folks. For Mr. Theodis Ealey that piece is "Stand Up In It". A good ole Southern Soul song with a cheeky message that's become one of the biggest hits to come out of the famed "chitlin' circuit" in the modern era.

Elizabeth Cook  (Roots)
it’s a rare performer who will dare to take on the industry on her own hogs-and-kisses terms. But for the artist whom Nanci Griffith has called “this generation’s Loretta Lynn,” it takes a certain tenacity to meld smart attitude with classic tradition, the credibility of a life lived with genuine hillbilly passion, and the integrity to write an acclaimed cache of uncommonly cool songs. In other words, for Elizabeth Cook, it takes Balls, and having Balls is just the beginning.

high expectations are the name of the game, and he’s shown

and narrative tales with elements of blues, classic country and rock n’roll.
A modern-day troubadour, Earle blends genres seamlessly,
framing his songs in warm musical settings

Walt Wilkins and the Mystiqueros
San Antonio-born Walt Wilkins has been called a genius, more than once,
and a writer the caliber of John Steinbeck and his voice as comfortable as a pair of old blue jeans,
and he is, and has, all of that. His crafting of story-songs, hard-edged vocals to sing them and
a plaintive guitar have made him a fixture of the Texas music scene (and Nashville before that).
He’s put his magical touch on recordings by new and veteran artists, too many to count.
Wilkins says this is the most fun he’s ever had playing music in a band in 30 years. He describes the music of The Mystiqueros (nicknamed mq5) as highly reminiscent of ’70s country rock from Texas and the West Coast and blues and soul that members grew up listening to and features high-quality songwriting and musicianship, rhythm, and vocal arrangements.

that she may indeed one day be mentioned alongside the giants in the blues idiom."

Back when blues was king and South Louisiana was the breeding ground for a blast of some of the most memorable American music ever recorded, at the heart of it was Lazy Lester. Those days are gone,

As a songwriter, Leon's songs have hit the charts across all genres and have been covered

thurs  7/3  James Harman with the Tablerockers
Harman found the blues early in life, both on black radio and on the street corner: "Radio" Johnson, a local blind street singer who played slide guitar with a knife, was an early influence and collaborator. Harman's professional career began in 1962 after moving to Panama City, Fla. Soon after the move, he discovered like-minded friends, who invited him to black nightclubs to see such performers as Little Junior Parker, Jimmy Reed, Little Milton Campbell, Slim Harpo, Bobby Bland, O.V. Wright, B.B. King, Otis Redding, Solomon Burke, Joe Tex and James Carr. He began hanging out on a regular basis and was eventually asked to sit in by local house bands, becoming known as "that boy who sings like a man."
The Tablerockers are influenced by a variety of musical styles that include Delta blues, Chicago and Texas blues, R & B, soul, rock-a-billy, jazz, funk, rock 'n' roll and even country, all filtered through the Tablerockers' blues sensibilities. The result is a high-powered blues attack featuring the smokin' guitar and soulful vocals of Baby Jason Davis, and the tight grooves provided by Larry Boehmer on bass and David Watson on drums. Guitarist and vocalist, Baby Jason, toured for 10 years with his trio, "Baby Jason and the Spankers".

Sat 7/5
Grayson Capps and the Stompknockers
I write songs which have the voice of dead prophets masquerading as town drunks screaming 'look at us we're pretty, too!' I've been playing guitar and singing for nearly twenty years now. I've played theaters, festivals, radio shows, t.v. shows, whiskey-beer crusted barrooms, living rooms, and camp fires. Some people call me a preacher others a poet, a singer, a guitar player, a landscaper,
but I am only an actor strutting and fretting across the stage. I still have to use a shovel. I still have to dig in the dirt. But,
I tell you what, I have a beautiful daughter named Sadie, a house on Music St., and my first solo record coming out in the spring.
Bobby and Fred are dead, but my father is alive and well in Alabama about to have a novel published. No one knows what tomorrow will bring, but songs are still sung by those who continue to sing.

Sun 7/6   Eric Sardinas
Eric's signature brand of Delta dynamite has been a long time in the making. At the incredible
early age of six, he already had his fingers on the fret board. Though born a lefty, he naturally
gravitated towards playing the guitar as a right-hander. Admittedly, this could be considered
a difficult approach, but it never slowed Sardinas down. In fact, it's actually been a major
contributing factor in the formation of his unique style and specialized technique.

Mon  7/21
Guy Forsyth (Blues / Folk Rock / Indie )
New Cd Release party
Guy is known today as a musician with gripping, powerful vocals as well as a master of numerous instruments.
He started his musical development first with singing, and began playing harmonica at 16. Shortly thereafter
he heard a very distinct and overwhelming sound on Kansas City radio that changed his life; it was Robert Johnson.
After that, he borrowed a guitar, fell in love and learned to tune it with his feet from a friend who had lost both his arms
in an accident. In college, he lasted a single semester at the University of Kansas, and then he found the music he had been seeking – gritty, organic folk and blues, “from a practical hands-on, gears, joints and joists level.”
And he struck out to learn it. Since then, he’s been awarded an Austin Music Award for Best Male Vocalist in 2005,
as well as numerous other AMA’s over the years in categories such as Blues and Best Miscellaneous Instrument Player
(singing saw), among others.

Sun  7/27  The
Commander Cody Band

The repertoire stretched from old time rock and roll; 20 FLIGHT ROCK, red neck country; TRUCK DRIVIN' MAN, boogie-woogie; BEAT ME DADDY 8 TO THE BAR, Cajun; DIGGY LIGGY LO, swing/jazz; SMOKE, SMOKE, SMOKE THAT CIGARETTE, plus their self-penned party anthems; TOO MUCH FUN, I'M DOWN TO SEEDS AND STEMS AGAIN, and LOST IN THE OZONE. Basically, they represented the essence of American roots music.
Eventually, they signed to Paramount Records, and the twangy HOT ROD LINCOLN was a runaway hit, reaching the top ten in 1972. A few more tunes breached the top 40 as they hit the concert trail, playing the legendary Fillmore Auditorium, and finding themselves on bills with the Grateful Dead, The Doors, The Jefferson Airplane, Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin and The Eagles. They also backed up legends Gene Vincent, Link Wray and John Lennon. Later, their 1974 album "Live From Deep in the Heart of Texas" was named as one of Rolling Stones 100 Greatest of all times!
As always, the old Commander Cody himself is behind the piano, leading the musical mayhem and controlled chaos, and sporting his legendary antics and ability to spark up even the toughest crowds.
